Repeat Prescriptions
When you need a new prescription for your usual treatment, please tick the items required on the printed tear-off counterfoil which comes attached to your prescription. This can either be brought into the surgery and deposited in the prescription request box (on the reception desk), or posted to us (with a s.a.e. if you wish us to post it back).
If you prefer, you can fax your request to us on 0115 967 3838.
Please note that for safe practice, we cannot take prescription requests over the telephone.
SystmOnline allows you to access our online facilities such as booking/cancelling appointments and ordering repeat prescriptions. To use this service you will need to obtain a username & password from reception. Please take photo ID to the front desk (such as passport or driving licence) and the receptionist will issue a username and password for you.
Parents may have access to their children's online account until their child is 13 years old. If a teenager wishes to use SystemOnline we first need to be sure that they are able to make and understand important decisions about their health-that they are Gillick competant. To assess this may need them to come and see a clinician if we have not met them recently. We will be able to issue a username and password for them if we are satisfied of their Gillick competancy.
Please note repeat prescription requests cannot be accepted over the phone.
All repeat prescription requests require 72 hours’ notice. Please refer to the table below to check when your prescription will be ready to collect.

Medication Reviews
Please always check that your prescription does not need to be reviewed by your doctor before submitting your request.
If you are on regular medication you will need a medication review usually every 6-12 months. This is decided by your GP or ANP or practice nurse. We may need to review your more frequently if you are on a lot of different tablets, have recently changed your medication or if your condition is not stable. Please understand that this is so that we can prescribe safely. There will be a note on the back of your prescription asking you to make an appointment for a medication review and when it is due.
If you need a medication review please book in plenty of time if possible but if you are running out of tablets then please mention this to the staff at reception and we will make sure that this does not happen.
